What Are the Effects of Massage Therapy?
Relaxation Massage
Massage therapists work to dissolve tissue adhesions and promote circulation through specialized techniques. On the neurological front, the treatment helps improve blood flow and muscle tone.
Psychologically, a massage session can have a calming impact. It lowers stress, eases tension and anxiety, and reduces pain perception. For those in good health, the therapy enhances relaxation, improves muscle flexibility, and contributes to lowered stress levels.
How Long Is a Massage Session?
The duration of a massage session can vary, typically 30 to 90 minutes.
How Can Massages Help Relaxation?
Massages serve as an excellent remedy for stress, offering physiological and emotional advantages. They alleviate tense muscles, break down bodily adhesions, and boost blood flow and temperature. Additionally, massages trigger the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good hormones, which contribute to a sense of calm and well-being.
Here at Kefi Wellness Centre, our team of licensed massage therapists is highly skilled in various massage techniques to help you reach that much-needed relaxation. Whatever your needs may be, we have a tailored approach to wellness that’s just right for you.
What Types of Massage Therapy Does Kefi Wellness Offer?
Our wellness clinic offers different massage techniques including the following:
Swedish massage
This technique uses slow, rhythmic and repetitive massage movements combined with light to moderate pressure to achieve a soothing and relaxing effect.
Deep tissue massage
A deep tissue massage uses a combination of friction and compression to reach deeper muscles, tendons and ligaments to break down myofascial trigger points, scar tissue and adhesions between superficial and deep layers of tissues.
Cupping Massage
Cupping Therapy is not exactly what you might expect from a massage session, but it has become quite popular. It’s an ancient type of alternative medicine in which special cups are heated and placed in the skin for about 3 minutes to create suction that increases circulation in the area. The goal is to improve blood flow and stimulate cell repair.
There are many reasons you might get a cupping session, including pain, muscular injuries, inflammation, headaches, and stress. Cupping therapy usually shows results in cases where regular massage therapy is ineffective.
